The 2011 NFL playoffs bracket consisted of 12 teams competing for the Vince Lombardi Trophy, the NFL’s championship trophy. These teams were all the winners of their respective divisions within the American Football Conference (AFC) and the National Football Conference (NFC).
The playoffs began with a wild-card round where four teams from each conference played against each other, the winners of each match progressing to the divisional round. In the divisional round, the four teams remaining from each conference played against each other, the winners advancing to the conference championship game.
The final two teams then competed for the championship in Super Bowl XLVI, which was held on February 5, 2012 at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana. The game was between the AFC champion New England Patriots and the NFC champion New York Giants. The Giants defeated the Patriots 21-17 to win their fourth Super Bowl title.
